Hi,my name is Heather. I'm 15 years old and I have a secret struggle. Some call it the "new anorexia" of my generation; I call it my dark hole filled with shame and guilt. You see, when I was younger I was abused; I still have nightmares and flashbacks. I cut myself and feel better; cutting has become my best friend, my drug of choice. This is how I survive; I do a great job of hiding my scars from my friends and parents. But now I am at the point where I think God must hate me, after all, how could God love someone who cuts her skin until it bleeds,and pretends that her life is fine."
Sadly, stories like this play out each day in the lives of youth all across the country and around the world. Without your financial support, it would not be possible to continue our vision for teens and young women to walk towards freedom and discover who they are in Christ.
