COURAGE IN THE FACE OF FEAR
DOOR OF HOPE 4 TEENS was founded by Debra Cornacchia, a courageous woman whose vision lies in the success of teens and young women struggling with self-injury, mental illness and depression. She believes that even in moments of fear, depression and darkness there is a Door of Hope through having faith in God. Your donations help open the DOOR OF HOPE 4 TEENS!
In 2010, the most recent year available for data, 464,995 people visited a hospital for injuries due toself-harm behavior. Together, those harming themselves made an estimated total of more than 650,000 hospital visits related to injuries sustained in one or more separate incidents of self-harm behavior. Your donation helps us to provide the crisis intervention, coaching and mentorship so that youngsters do not make it to the hospital!
Deaths from youth suicide are only part of the problem. More young people survive suicide attempts than actually die. Each year, approximately 157,000 youth between the ages of 10 and 24 receive medical care for self-inflicted injuries at Emergency Departments across the U.S.Your donation helps us to intervene in the teen’s life, before it’s too late through education and community outreach in schools and other public forums.
DOOR OF HOPE 4 TEENShas been helping teens recover from the debilitating effects of depression and self -injurious behavior since 2008.We have been able to help over 1,400 Teens recover through crisis counseling, Mentorship, coaching, prayer and personal growth groups. We also educated hundreds of parents in understanding their teen’s self-destructive behavior pattern. In the past, you have been kind to donate to DOOR OFHOPE 4 TEENS. Our organization and the teens and families we serve runs on private donations and we would not be here today without you! In the next year, we plan to open a community center in the Fort Mill area of South Carolina and invite you to visit our center and join us prayer as we move forward in fulfilling the plans that God has purposed for Door of Hope 4 Teens.
